Two students from the School of Islamic Sciences and Arabic Language (STIBA) Makassar secured the top positions in the National Digital Da’wah Competition organized by the Indonesian Dai Association (Ikadi) Depok. The competition lasted for three months and managed to attract the participation of 148 contestants from various parts of Indonesia.

Eight assessment categories were used to evaluate the participants, including theme relevance, content, language, presentation structure, intonation, facial expressions, timeliness, and audiovisual aspects. The announcement of the winners was made directly by the Chairman of Ikadi Depok, K.H. Ahmad Yani, Lc., M.A. The jury panel in Depok city was involved in the selection process of the 10 winners, comprising three main winners, three consolation winners, and four participants with the highest number of viewers.

Muhammad Radhy Makmur and Muhammad Akbar emerged as the best champions in the main winner category, both students in the eighth semester of the Comparative Jurisprudence program. Radhy secured the second position, while Muhammad Akbar claimed the first position. Both presented the same theme, which was “Ramadan, the Month of Victory.”

For their achievements in this competition, Muhammad Akbar and Radhy Makmur were entitled to receive prestigious trophies from the Mayor of Depok and other mentoring prizes.

The winners received congratulations from the Mayor of Depok, Dr. K.H. Mohammad Idris, Lc., M.A. “Participation in this competition is a victory for Islamic preaching and an enriching asset for the city of Depok and Indonesia in general,” he said.

In an interview with Muhammad Akbar, he stated that the biggest challenge in preparing for and executing this competition was adjusting to the limited video duration while the theme had already been determined by the organizing committee. Akbar emphasized the importance of digital da’wah in the current era of globalization as a means to spread Islam more widely and reach a broader audience.

Meanwhile, Radhy Makmur mentioned that his motivation for participating was to remind the community of the importance of welcoming the month of Ramadan with the spirit of the salaf. He also sees digital da’wah as a vast platform to spread goodness and provide benefits to the Muslim community.
