(STIBA.ac.id) Makassar – Living at the end of time makes us witness many signs. Among them, as described by the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam in one of his words that, at the end of time, the arruwaibidhah will appear. They are ignorant people, who have no capabilities in this religion, yet they dare to talk a lot about community issues.

The approaching of the end of the world can also be seen from another sign that the Prophet reported more than 1400 years ago, namely that more trusts were being wasted because matters were left to those who were not experts.

Another sign is the scarcity of scholars. People, who understand the religion, practice it and preach it, are increasingly difficult to find because Allah has saved them. Finally, knowledge was lifted from the face of the earth.

These three signs of the end of time were expressed by the Chairman of the Senate of STIBA Makassar, ustaz Muhammad Yusran Anshar, Lc., M.A., Ph.D. when he started his speech to open the STIBA TA Initial Lecture, 1441—1442 H / 2020—2021 M.

The three signs of the end of time related to the scarcity of scholars were deliberately pointed by Ustaz Yusran in accordance with the central theme carried in this Initial Lecture, namely the regeneration of scholars.

“Even though the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam told us that this will happen at the end of time, it does not mean that we give up facing the situation,” said Ustaz Yusran witnessed by male students on Zoom media and female students on YouTube channel STIBA TV.

“Therefore the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam said, if the end of days is tomorrow and there are tree seeds in your hands, then plant them. Even though the scholars will become increasingly rare, our job is to give birth to scholars.”

The former head of STIBA then read the word of Allah in Surah Ali Imran,

“Muhammad is nothing but an apostle, indeed several apostles have passed before. If he dies or is killed you turn back (apostate)? “. (Surah Ali Imran: 144)

The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam also mentioned the heirs of the prophet were scholars. Scholars are the most entitled to continue his jihad. They also inherited the preaching, struggle, and everything he had taught.

And, it turned out that, according to Ustaz Yusran, it was for this purpose that the STIBA Makassar campus was built, namely as a barn for the regeneration of rabbani scholars.

At the end of his speech, the Chairman of the Wahdah Islamiyah Sharia Council invited all lecturers and students to maximize lecture events.

“If we had tried our best to prepare the teaching and learning process online, the portion we would get would probably not be more than 50% of what we would achieve if the lecture took place offline. So, what would be achieved if our teaching and learning preparations are mediocre?” he said.

This year, STIBA Makassar Initial Lecture was conducted by the Chairperson of the Surakarta City Sharia Council, Ustaz Dr. H. Mu’inudinillah, Lc., M.A. Ustaz Mu’in, who was one of the initiators of the MIUMI establishment and is now the chairman of MIUMI Solo City.
