Being chairs Kopertais Region VIII covering Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua, enabled Dr. K.H. Hamzah Harun, M.Ag. (Vice Coordinator of Kopertais Region VIII) and his secretary Dr. H. Nur Taufik Sanusi, M.A. to assess the academic abilities of college students in their working areas.

This was conveyed by the two of them while attending Munaqasyah for the Second Semester of Academic Year 1443-1444 H/2021-2022 A.D. University College of Islamic Sciences and Arabic Language (STIBA) Makassar, Tuesday, 11 Muharram 1444 H (09 of August 2022).

“Out of the 69 universities in Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua, among many students we tested, students of STIBA have several characteristics, excellence that students at other universities do not have. If they are asked about literacy, they can answer smoothly,” said the Vice Coordinator of Kopertais Regional VIII.

According to him, proficiency in literacy certainly cannot be separated from the earnestness of the supervisors in guiding their students. “Congratulations on the exam. Hopefully, you will not only perform brilliantly on this campus but even more brilliantly out there,” he hoped.

“You are in the womb of STIBA for four years, so soon you will be born as remarkable scholars, and be able to serve religion, nation, and state,” concluded Kiai Hamzah.

If the Vice Coordinator of Kopertais conveys a comparison related to the quality of students, the secretary of Kopertais Region VIII Dr. H. Nur Taufik Sanusi, M.A. highlights the quality of higher education institutions in general.

“Out of 69 universities in Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua, we can see which universities are healthy, unhealthy, and which are dying. Alhamdulillah STIBA is ‘very very’ healthy. Luckily, you can study at a healthy university college like STIBA,” said the son of the late Andre Gurutta K.H. The Sanusi Baco.

The Munaqasyah exam is the last exam that a student must pass to be declared passed or not after going through four years of lectures or more. If declared passed by the examiners and chairperson of the session, the student is entitled to a bachelor’s degree.

A total of 275 students consisting of 130 males and 145 females took the Munaqasyah Examination. The academic unit themselves sent 54 internal examiners from STIBA Makassar and Kopertais Region VIII.

Chairman of STIBA Makassar Akhmad Hanafi Dain Yunta, Lc., M.A., Ph.D. when giving a speech could not hold back his emotion when delivering farewell words to the students.

“Today is your last day here. If the exam is successful then we will proceed to graduation. It means that your duty has been completed. So is our mandate, as lecturers and administrators to you, has also been completed. But we are still brothers,” he said.

Next Wednesday (10 of August) a yudisium will be held for students who are declared to have passed the Munaqasyah exam.
