(STIBA.ac.id) Makassar – For the congregation of Anas bin Malik Mosque, the name Muhammad Ikhsan Sulaeman is already familiar. At a young age, this second-semester student of the Comparative Mazhab Study Program at STIBA Makassar has become an Imam at the mosque, which is always crowded with worshippers. During this year’s Ramadan, he also led the Tarawih and late-night prayers, reciting one Juz each night. His recitation is fluent, with rarely any mistakes.

His excellent memorization skills were proven by his achievement of first place in the Selection of Qur’an and Hadith Recitation (STQH) in the Hifzhul Qur’an (Memorization of the Qur’an) 30 Juz category. In the event held in Selayar Regency, Ikhsan represented Enrekang Regency.

“I hope that this victory will make us more aware of the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon us and that we will always cherish them,” said Ikhsan.

He also expressed his hope that this achievement would not make him complacent.

“There is still much we have to strive for in this temporary world,” he further stated.

To his friends at STIBA Makassar, this student from Sidrap Regency had a message to share.

“If someone has strong determination accompanied by sincerity and continuous prayers, including the prayers of parents to achieve their aspirations, especially to become a memorizer of the Qur’an, then Allah will open up a thousand ways for them, which sometimes may be unexpected,” he concluded.

In the XXXII Qur’an Recitation Competition held from June 22nd to July 1st, 2022, in Bone Regency, Muhammad Ikhsan Sulaeman also achieved third place in the same category.

In addition to Ikhsan, another STIBA Makassar student, Muh. Adzim Fadlan Tangdiombo, won second place in the Hifzhul Qur’an (Memorization of the Qur’an) 30 Juz category.
